How to check TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot for Modern Warfare 4
Modern Warfare 4 uses RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, which requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to be enabled before the game will start. Plenty of otherwise capable gaming PCs fail this check because both settings ship switched off in the BIOS. It takes about ten seconds to find out where you stand.
Check TPM 2.0 (10 seconds)
- Press Windows + R, type tpm.msc and press Enter.
- Look at the status line. "The TPM is ready for use" means it is on.
- Bottom right, check Specification Version. It must say 2.0.
- If it says "Compatible TPM cannot be found", it is switched off in the BIOS or your PC does not have one.
Check Secure Boot
- Press Windows + R, type msinfo32 and press Enter.
- Find Secure Boot State. It must say On.
- Find BIOS Mode on the line above. It must say UEFI. Secure Boot does not work in Legacy mode.
How to switch them on in the BIOS
Restart and tap the BIOS key as the logo appears (usually Delete, F2 or F10). Menu names vary by motherboard.
- TPM: on AMD look for fTPM, on Intel look for PTT or Intel Platform Trust Technology. Set it to Enabled.
- Secure Boot: look under Boot or Security. Set it to Enabled, with the OS type set to Windows UEFI mode.
- If Secure Boot greys out, turn off CSM (Compatibility Support Module) first, then retry. Your Windows drive must use GPT partitioning.
- Save and exit, then repeat the two checks above.
The other Modern Warfare 4 requirements

Passing the security check does not tell you how well it will run. Use the FPS checker to see an estimate for your exact CPU and GPU.
FAQ
Do I need Windows 11 for Modern Warfare 4?
Windows 11 is listed for the recommended spec and Windows 10 for the minimum, but TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required either way.
Is Secure Boot safe to turn on?
Yes. It only lets signed boot software start. Most Windows installs work as normal. Some older Linux dual-boot setups and unsigned drivers can be affected.
My PC has no TPM option in the BIOS. What now?
Check for fTPM (AMD) or PTT (Intel), usually under Advanced or Security. Many older boards, roughly pre-2016, have no firmware TPM. A motherboard TPM header module is the alternative if the board supports one.
