Will your old PC or laptop cope?
Old family PC, school laptop, no graphics card, handheld. Pick yours and a game, and we will tell you straight, plus the one change that helps most. Hardware only.
A thin laptop with no separate graphics chip. Open Settings, System, About for the processor. Task Manager, Performance, GPU shows the graphics chip.
Not realistically playable on this hardware
The best case is about 10 FPS at 720p on Low, under the 30 FPS most people find playable.
That is the biggest free change available: about 8 FPS now to about 10 FPS.
- Estimate from a model with integrated and older graphics data, not a test of your exact machine. Real results move with memory speed, cooling and the power mode.
- We found no published tests of Roblox on these chips, so this is inferred from how fast the graphics chip is overall. Treat it as a guide.
- Plug the charger in and set the power mode to Best performance: on battery, performance can drop sharply.
- This checks the hardware only. A school-managed laptop or Chromebook may be restricted by the school, and we have no tested data for ChromeOS, so check with the school or the maker.

FAQ
Can a laptop with no graphics card run Roblox or Minecraft?
Sometimes, with the settings turned right down. In our model the newer chips (Intel Iris Xe, Ryzen with Radeon graphics) reach about 50 to 75 FPS in Roblox at 720p on Low, while older Celeron and UHD 620 laptops stay under 20 FPS and are not realistically playable. Pick your processor above for your own estimate. We found no published tests of Roblox or Minecraft on integrated chips, so those results are inferred from the graphics chip's overall speed and labelled low confidence.
Can a school laptop or Chromebook play games?
This tool only checks the hardware. A school-managed laptop or Chromebook can be restricted by the school, and we have no tested data for ChromeOS, so check with the school or the maker. We do not cover getting around school filters or admin settings.
What is the single best upgrade for a slow PC?
It depends on the limit. If the RAM is below the game's minimum, add RAM. If the graphics card is the limit and the PC is a desktop, a used graphics card is the best value per pound. If the processor is the limit, graphics changes barely help. The tool picks for you.
Does lowering the resolution to 720p really help?
Yes, it is the biggest free change on weak graphics. Our model assumes 720p gives about 40% more frame rate than 1080p on the same settings.
