Know what you will hatch. Know what your server costs.
Pick two parents and see the baby, find which parents make the Pal you want, then size a dedicated server and see what it costs a month from real published prices.
Breeding needs a male and a female. The result is the same either way round, except Wixen and Katress.

FAQ
How does Palworld breeding work?
Every Pal has a hidden breeding rank. The baby's target rank is the average of its parents' ranks, rounded: floor((rank A + rank B + 1) / 2). The baby is the eligible Pal whose own rank is nearest that target, and a tie goes to the lower tie-break number. Two of the same Pal always give that Pal, and some pairs have fixed results that override the rank rule.
Why can't I breed some Pals like Lyleen or Jetragon?
The wiki lists 22 Pals, mostly legendary and boss Pals, that can only be bred from two parents of their own species, so the rank rule never produces them. Use the Find the parents tab to see the verified recipes for any Pal.
Does the gender of the parents matter?
Not for the baby's species, with one exception the wiki documents: Wixen and Katress. A female Wixen with a male Katress gives Wixen Noct, and a female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis. Our calculator shows both outcomes.
How much RAM does a Palworld server need?
The official Palworld Server Guide (v1.0.4) lists 4 or more cores and 16 GB of RAM, says 8 GB will boot but risks out-of-memory crashes, and recommends an SSD. It gives no per-player figure, so we scale from that baseline and mark the result as an estimate.
Why do hosts sell Palworld plans with less than 16 GB?
Hosts size plans by price and typical load, and they often include a RAM boost or run the server lean. Those plans can work for a few players on small bases, but they sit below Pocketpair's baseline, so we only price plans at or above your recommended size.
How fresh are the prices and breeding data?
Breeding data is read from the Palworld Wiki (CC BY-SA 4.0), edited as recently as the day we checked, and we re-pull it weekly. Host prices are read by hand from each host's public Palworld page, dated on the result, and may change. Your numbers are labelled official, wiki or estimate throughout.
