Refresh Rate Advisor
New monitor, or new GPU? Pick your game and parts and find out which one is actually holding you back.
Your PC can push ~180fps in Fortnite, but your 144Hz monitor can only show 144 of them — you're leaving about 36fps on the table. A higher refresh monitor is the upgrade that actually helps here, not a better GPU.

FAQ
What does 'refresh-rate capped' mean?
It means your PC is producing more frames per second than your monitor can display. A 240fps game on a 144Hz monitor only ever shows 144 of those frames — the rest are wasted. A higher refresh rate monitor is the upgrade that helps, not a better GPU.
What does 'hardware capped' mean?
It means your monitor could show more frames than your PC can currently produce — so a new monitor wouldn't show you anything extra. Your CPU or GPU is the real limit; check the bottleneck calculator to see which one.
Should I match my monitor to my GPU, or my GPU to my monitor?
Whichever you're not changing right now. If you just bought a high-refresh monitor, aim your next hardware upgrade at feeding it. If you're not upgrading your PC soon, buy a monitor that matches the FPS you're actually getting today, not the FPS you wish you had.
