Is your PC better than a PS5?
Pick your graphics card and processor. We compare your GPU with the PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox consoles using Digital Foundry's matched-settings tests, and give you a card you can share.
CPU: the Ryzen 5 5600 is on par with or faster than the console's Zen 2 processor.
Consoles are tuned fixed hardware, so a PC with the same raw power can behave differently. This compares GPU power using Digital Foundry's matched-settings tests, and is a yardstick, not a guarantee.
Where the console equivalents come from
- PlayStation 5: RX 6700 / RTX 2070 Super class. Digital Foundry matched-settings tests (2020, 2024) (high confidence).
- PlayStation 5 Pro: RTX 5060 Ti 16GB / RX 9060 XT 16GB. Digital Foundry tested PC GPUs that match or exceed PS5 Pro (Nov 2025) (medium confidence).
- Xbox Series X: RTX 2080 class, a little behind PS5 in some tests. Digital Foundry Series X benchmarks (2020, 2024) (medium confidence).
- Xbox Series S: GTX 1650 Super class (rough). Secondary sources only; no major-outlet comparison found (low confidence).

FAQ
What PC graphics card is equivalent to a PS5?
Digital Foundry's matched-settings tests put the PS5 around an RX 6700 or an RTX 2070 Super to 2080 Super. Anything at RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT level and above is a clear step up.
What PC matches a PS5 Pro?
After testing in November 2025, Digital Foundry found the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti and the 16GB RX 9060 XT match or beat the PS5 Pro in most modes. They did not recommend the 8GB versions.
Can my PC run GTA 6?
Nobody knows yet. GTA VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on 19 November 2026. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or any requirements, and reports of early 2027 come from anonymous sources. If it targets console-class settings, a PS5-class GPU is a sensible yardstick, but that is our estimate, not an official figure.
Why can a console beat a PC with similar power?
Consoles are one fixed machine, so developers tune each game for it. A PC with the same raw power can do better or worse depending on the game, the settings and your CPU. This tool compares raw GPU power from matched-settings tests.
